Location Finder for WordPress
THE PROBLEM
Most location finders decide in advance what a location is.
A store with a phone number. A clinic with services. When your locations don’t fit the shape the plugin already chose, you end up storing “Wheelchair accessible” in a field labelled Fax.
Location Finder has three built-in fields — name, latitude, longitude — and nothing else. Every other field is one you define: its type, its label, whether it shows on the result card or only in the details, whether it can be searched, whether it becomes a filter.
A food bank defines Services and Eligibility. A clinic defines Specialties and Languages Spoken. Neither one has to pretend to be the other.
HOW IT WORKS
You define the fields. It handles the hard parts.
Nine straightforward field types — text, number, email, phone, yes/no and the rest — plus three composites that are genuinely difficult to build by hand, and are usually where a spreadsheet gives up.
FOR YOUR VISITORS
A map and a list, on one screen.
Everything a visitor needs to find the nearest open location, without a page reload and without an account.
THEMING
It should look like your site, not like a plugin.
The stylesheet ships structure, not opinions. Colours come from your theme, so the finder inherits your palette, follows dark mode and survives high-contrast mode without anyone configuring it.
If you do want to take control, there are fifteen presets and twenty-five individual settings, and every preset colour is checked to WCAG AA contrast. Nothing uses !important, so a theme that deliberately styles the finder still wins.
NO STRINGS
Free, and free of the usual strings.
GET IT
Put your locations on a map.
Free, GPL, and maintained by people who answer their email. If it turns out to be the wrong tool for what you’re building, we’d rather tell you that than watch you install it.
